(No tracer or reloads)
NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASS ROOM
5. Eye and ear protection. (Safety glasses and ear muffs)
(We have ear and eye protection available)
6. You will be sitting, standing, sitting, kneeling and laying
appropriate shirt. Check weather for information on what temperatures we will encounter at the range. Fort Dix is an outside range.
II. What will be provided?
1. All applicable NRA materials.
2. Coffee and Tea
3. Lunch will be provided (Included in price)
III. What if I don't have a rifle?
1. Small caliber rifles (.22) will be available to use at NO extra cost to you. These rifles are available to everyone to hone their skills before moving
on to larger caliber rifles.
Because of distance from Range to fast food, we serve lunch to save you time.
NRA Basics Of Rifle Shooting
Course Goal: To teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.

II: Ammunition Knowledge And The Fundamentals Of Rifle Shooting
III: Firing The First Shots (benchrest)
IV: Standing Rifle Shooting Positions
V: Prone And Kneeling Rifle Shooting Positions
VI: Sitting Rifle Shooting Position And Review Of Positions
VII: Rifle Shooting Sports And Activities
The basic rifle certification requires a minimum of 14 hours to complete. An abbreviated 3-5 hour rifle orientation called "First Steps" is also offered,
as well as Scout Merit Badge training.


We provide basic small caliber firearms (.22) and ammunition at no extra cost to you. If you wish to shoot your firearm bring whatever amount of ammunition you wish to expend. NO RELOADS, STEEL JACKET OR STEEL CORE AND NO TRACER. All instructors are Range Safety Officers and will preform a basic function inspection on your firearm. You are responsible for your firearms safety.

The NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This
course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle
parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions;
cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure,
Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, course completion certificate, and Lesson Plan

Class registration closes the Wednesday before the class date at Noon 12:00pm. The date will be deleted when the class is full.
